Volunteering

Please call the Temenos Office at (413) 367-9779 for volunteering opportunities.

Volunteers get to know the buildings and grounds intimately, and cultivate a very special relationship with Temenos through their service.  Land Steward, Kevin Skorupa, and Resident Directors, Viva Butler and Colin Gasko, work together to keep the buildings and grounds in good working condition.  Please consider becoming a Temenos volunteer!  We can always use a helping hand!

Seasonal Volunteering

Early in April, through late November Viva and Colin are available to assign and assist with a variety of tasks including: raking and clearing paths and trails; tending the flower gardens, pruning around the Cabins, Lodge and Pond; washing Cabin and Lodge windows; sweeping off decks; light carpentry and painting; raking leaves and debris from under Cabins; splitting and stacking firewood; pruning along the Horse Hill Road; and so on.  Pick any weekday that works in your schedule and give Temenos a call.

Supporting Temenos while on retreat can be sweet!  For any portion of your retreat time simply speak with Viva or Colin and request a volunteer assignment.  As an example one retreatant washed the windows in the Cabin she was staying in.  Please note that this is not expected of you.  Emphasis is on the word “volunteer.” When a complete retreat is what your heart desires, please listen!
