Knoll Cabin
Knoll Cabin was designed and built in 1988-89 by Charles Evans (pictured above with Arieh Ress), a student of the founders, Joe and Teresina Havens. In 2010 Knoll was given a beautiful new blue metal roof. This is the smallest and most remote Temenos cabin, which is good for privacy, but means a long walk to the nearest outhouse, and to the Well for water.
Knoll sleeps one to two people on a double futon on the sleeping platform. There is an additional single futon stored underneath. Sunlight pours in through large windows on three walls, one of which opens as a door onto the small back deck.
In October 2015 Knoll’s front deck was replaced with a screen porch, so the cooking area is no longer open to the elements – a vast improvement! Named for Temenos founder, Teresina Havens who loved to dance and sing on the knoll it is built on, Knoll is heated with a wood-burning stove, and open year-round.
